Heating & Lighting

There is a log/coal fire in the main lounge, with a coal store and log store in the courtyard. Please take care when lighting the fire and use the fireguard when unattended.

The house has a central heating system with boiler and controls in the kitchen. Each radiator also has its own thermostatic control. It will be timed to go on twice daily. If you would like to change the timings then there are instructions in the visitor book.

There is a supply of candles in the unlikely event of a power failure.

Please call the owners for further help on 07852 159396  or  07775 587789

Candles

The house never looks better than when you have a roaring fire and candlelight, but we ask you to take care when using candles in the house and to use the candle holders provided so as to ensure that burn marks are avoided.

Linen/Towels

The very best quality bed linen is supplied in the house for the period of your stay. One set of bedding, including duvet and pillows, covers, sheets and pillowcases per bed.  Please bring your own bath and hand towels for the period of your stay.

Steps

As the house is on three floors there are a number of steps both inside the house and in the courtyard garden. Please take care with young children or the infirm. If you have any concerns then please discuss this with the owners at the time of booking

Bathrooms

The house has two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a large shower. The water supply is from a ‘demand system’ hot water boiler and so you should never run out of piping hot water.

Children

We can supply a cot and a high chair. Please advise us in advance if you will require them. Please bring your own mattress protector and bedding for your baby.

We welcome children, but ask you to be aware of the open fires, hot radiators, and steps in the garden. Please only allow your children to play in the secure garden at the rear of the house as the front of the house is directly onto a road.

Pets Welcome

The house boasts a ‘dog’ room with dog flap access to the secure courtyard garden. All well behaved dogs are welcome in the property, but we ask you not to let them upstairs at all. We also have a separate secure Cattery, which the previous owners used as a cat rescue facility. This means that you could bring your favourite moggie too.

Parking

There is ample parking in front and to the side of the property. Please park responsibly. There is also secure off-road parking for one car on the gated driveway.

Bicycles

We welcome you to bring your bicycles and leave them in the secure garden under the wood-store or in the lockable cattery. Please do not bring them into the house.

Waste/Rubbish

There are two bins at the side of the house, along with bottle and paper recycling boxes. Please try to recycle whenever possible. Bin bags are provided for the kitchen pedal bin.

Information Booklet

We have placed an information booklet in the hous,e which covers many aspects of how the house works. Please refer to it during your stay
